Art is not just one possible way to change the world – it is already acting as a concept vital to society! Art is research into basic meanings. Art must be given the freedom to make something happen or nothing at all might happen; art must be given the freedom to break things up and leave its mark to modify or build something new.

I am 42 years old, mother to a 15 -year-old boy, and husband of the musician Jukka Juhola. We live in Svartå bruk, which is an hour drive from Helsinki or Turku. I have studied social and environmental art in Turku University of Applied Sciences, Art Academy (2007) and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2010 and Master of Arts 2017 from the same school.
I’ve done a number of social art projects in Finland and abroad. My main work has been create International Socially Engaged Art Symposium ISEAS

In recent years, I have worked on Installation Moving Roots, which has been exhibited in Finland, Russia , Iceland and Italy.
Moving Roots is a growing installation: we all have our history, our first big roots somewhere deep down. In the past it was more common to be born, live and die in the same village. Nowadays the world is getting smaller and our possibilities to meet people from other countries are more common. We grow new roots while meeting new friends, cultures, and countries. We affect each other.
I have also made video works and my work Nature Boy has been exhibited in Germany -Berlin, and Italy -Torino, and France -Paris and Romania - Bucarest.
I have served almost four years as Chairman of the Raseborg Photograph Center, Galleri Zebra, and practically renewed its entire operation. As chairman and as curator, my desire has been to bring the Photograph Centre closer to the people. I have used my skills in the field of social art and thus served the community by reinforcing participatory activities at many levels. In constructing the exhibitions calendar, the emphasis has been to provide high quality, varied, and interesting exhibitions as much as possible. I have used my international contacts and provided the opportunity for young emerging Finnish photographers and visual artists to bring their projects to our center, while still being attentive to established photographers.
I want to improve my chances to act in the international arena, outside Europe as well. As an artist, I think I can influence people’s well-being and give art the possibility to open up new perspectives on thinking – both as private individuals and at the societal level. I’m not afraid of hard work, I am a conscientious and effective worker, and I like to read and writing is not a problem. I set my goals high, and I always try to do my best. I stay on schedule. I speak and write English and Swedish. I have a brave, fearless, and open personality.
